The island
Sri Lanka
a world in one small island
Nicknamed the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean,” Sri Lanka packs extraordinary diversity into a land the size of Ireland. In a single day you can move from tropical coastline to cloud-forest highlands, from a 2,000-year-old stupa to a colonial hill-station tea estate. Eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 26 national parks, 1,340 km of coastline, and a culture that has been welcoming travellers since the ancient Silk Road — Sri Lanka rewards every kind of traveller, on every kind of journey.
8 UNESCO sites
Ancient capitals, sacred peaks, and living ecosystems recognized by the world.
26 national parks
Home to leopards, elephants, blue whales, and the densest leopard population on earth.
2,500 years of history
Civilizations that built reservoirs, carved rock fortresses, and planted the world's oldest tree.
Climate & best time to visit
When to come — and where to go
Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons that move in opposite directions across the island — which means somewhere is always sunny. The southwest coast and highlands are best from December to March; the ancient cultural triangle and east coast shine from May to September. This is precisely why a tailored itinerary matters: we route your journey to follow the best weather for your exact travel dates.
Dec – Mar
West & south coast, highlands. Dry & ideal.
Apr – May
Transition. Both monsoons. Cultural triangle fine.
Jun – Sep
East coast & Cultural Triangle. Best wildlife in Yala.
Oct – Nov
Inter-monsoon showers. Fewer crowds. Good value.
